Snow – 2009-01-19

Hello all. This is one more in my string of attempts to adapt to another piece of web editing software. This time it is “WordPress”. I have imported my old blogs so we are stepping back in time as I add them as posts. Here we go.from January 2009.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Since the big snow storms of December we have not been out and about all that much. The girls (Meiling and Willow) stayed overnight a couple of times and that gave them the opportunity to play in the snow at the end of our driveway where Charlene took some pictures.

Willow worked hard to build a quinzhee in the pile of snow left by my shoveling.

The last few days have been sunny and warm and there is some hope that we will be returning to weather that is more normal for the Island.

On the weekend Charlene and I went down to the beach just south of Mill bay and walked along the water for a few kilometers. I took one picture looking along the coastline.

and another of Mount Baker. We often cannot see Mount Baker unless the air is very clear. It is due east of us in Washington State, about 50 km east of Bellingham, Washington, which makes it about 150 km east of us.

Today we went for a walk along Shawnigan Creek. Here is a compilation of some video clips from the walk. This was shot on my digital camera as I do not have a video camera.
